Back in 2010-2013, I worked at several different gyms including one gym that was one of the busiest in the cities.
And every single year, without a doubt, January was BY FAR the busiest time of year (as you can expect)…
According to some studies, gym-goers increase by more than 1/3 in January compared to any other month.
That’s quite a bit when you really think about it…
Yet, as the old saying goes, “give it 2-weeks and it’ll be back to normal.”
Although many of the “regulars” bank on this happening, all the “New Years Resolutioners” quitting after 2-weeks, I was always hoping for something different…
I’ve always wondered why this was… SO many people quitting so soon into the New Year…
Most people say it’s because they are busy, work got crazy, just didn’t have time.. You know, the regular stuff.
Anyway, I tell you this because after working at many gyms over the years, I’ve come to the realization that the #1 reason people stop coming to the gym after just a few weeks is two-fold…
First, they don’t have a plan.
They show up January 1st with NO CLUE what they are going to do. Their goal is to “lose weight” but they don’t know how they are going to do it…
They then spend the next two weeks bouncing from machine to machine making no progress at all… Leaving the gym each day more confused and frustrated than before…
Which brings us to problem #2…
They make ZERO progress…
Want to know the #1 motivator for people sticking to a workout routine?
RESULTS.
If you get results, you’ll keep coming back day after day and week after week and month after month.
This is the reason I was able to retain nearly all my New Year clients, because we focused on RESULTS.
Yet… Look around the gym…
The majority of people come in with no plan which leads to zero progress, which leads to no results…
βIf you don’t have a plan in place and a goal that you are trying to reach… And if you don’t see progress and results in your workouts…
You might be like ALL those people who end up quitting their routine on January 14th…
HOWEVER, you are better than that. Smarter than that. And… I’ve got your back π
That’s why I am sharing my plan for the first 6-weeks of 2015 with you. Feel free to take it and use (this is from my Simplified Superhero Program!)
Every first 2-weeks of January, I ALWAYS start by working out at home, at the SAME time everyday (this is to get into routine).
βI’m not a fan of the crowded gyms and don’t feel like fighting people for equipment.
So, I’ll do bodyweight workouts. My focus is on progression and really pushing the limits in these first 2-weeks.
That said, START slow. A big mistake people make is starting out too fast and getting overly sore, which leads to missed workouts.
Not good. Go at your own pace and build up from there.
After the 2-weeks, many of the January gym-goers will be gone and it’ll be time to hit the weights…
Which means, to the gym for 2-weeks of dumbbell work.
I use these 2-weeks to get my body going again with weighted exercises really focusing on strength and progress.
After those two weeks are up, it’s time to progress into 2-4 weeks of barbell training which will REALLY take your body to the next level.
In the Simplified Superhero Program, we focus on just 3 exercises per workout.
The reason for that is so you can focus on what matters most in your workouts. Like squatting, pushing, and pulling.
Remember, SIMPLE WORKS.
After these 2-4 weeks are up, you will have seen so much progress and results that you’ll be itching for more…
Usually, I’ll take a “de-load” week around the end of February, then get back after it again just in time for Spring Break π
2015 is a chance for you to completely change your body and health for the better.
βAnd it can be as simple as sticking to a plan that allows you to see daily PROGRESS and RESULTS.
And I firmly believe that my Simplified Superhero Program can do that for you.

Here’s to making 2015 your best year ever,

P.S. Remember… Don’t go into 2015 “blind” without a plan in place. Instead, have a proven plan and follow it blindly. Then watch as your body transforms right in front of your eyes π
